This Privacy Policy explains how Cuihua Zhu, doing business as Cancer Signaling Atlas ("Cancer Signaling Atlas," "we," "us") collects, uses and protects personal information when you use cancersignalingatlas.com, pathwaytotarget.com and related services (the "Service").

Information we collect

Account details: name, email address, organization, role and plan.
Billing information: handled by our payment processor, Stripe. We receive limited details such as your name, billing country, the last four digits and brand of your card, and your payment status. We never see or store your full card number.
Usage information: pages and episodes viewed, searches in the Target Explorer, device and browser type, approximate location derived from IP address, and dates and times of access.
Communications: messages you send us, such as support requests, feedback and corrections.

We do not ask for health information about you or anyone else. Please do not submit patient information through the Service.

How we use information

To provide the Service, manage accounts and subscriptions, and process payments
To send receipts, trial reminders, service notices and responses to support requests
To send product updates and newsletters, only if you opt in; you can unsubscribe at any time
To understand how the Service is used and to improve content and features
To protect the Service, prevent fraud and meet legal obligations

Legal bases (EU and UK users)

We process personal data to perform our contract with you, for our legitimate interests in running and improving the Service, with your consent (for example, marketing emails or non-essential cookies), and to comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share it only with service providers that help us run the Service, under contracts that limit their use of the data:

Stripe, Inc., and Link where it acts as seller of record: payments, tax and fraud prevention
Vercel Inc.: website hosting and privacy-friendly, aggregated visitor analytics (Vercel Web Analytics)
Bunny Stream (bunny.net): video streaming
Our email service provider: sending account emails and handling support messages

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a merger or sale of the business, in which case this policy will continue to apply.

Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to secure checkout. We measure site traffic with Vercel Web Analytics, which does not use cookies and does not identify individual visitors; it records aggregated data such as pages viewed, referring site, country, browser and device type. If we add non-essential cookies in the future, we will ask for your consent where required by law, and you can change your choice at any time.

Data retention

We keep account information while your account is active. After an account is closed, we delete or anonymize personal information within 12 months, except billing records, which we keep as long as tax and accounting law requires (generally up to 7 years).

Your rights

Depending on where you live, including under the EU and UK GDPR and US state privacy laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing or withdraw consent. To make a request, email hello@cancersignalingatlas.com. We will respond within 30 days and will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority.

International transfers

We are based in the United States, and our service providers may process data in the US and other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

Security

We use encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls and reputable providers to protect your information. No system is completely secure, so please use a strong, unique password.

Children

The Service is intended for adults and students aged 16 and over and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.

Changes

We will post any updates on this page and, for material changes, notify account holders by email.
